Arshdeep Singh was born on 5 February 1999 in a Punjabi Jatt Sikh family to Darshan Singh and Baljit Kaur. His father was posted in the Central Industrial Security Force, where he served for more than 25 years. Later the family came to Kharar near Chandigarh and settled. He used to cycle 13 kilometers from his home to Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, Chandigarh for practice. He started with street cricket and joined Jaswant Rai’s cricket academy in Chandigarh in 2015. He has an elder brother, Akashdeep Singh, who lives in Brampton (Canada) and a sister, Gurleen Kaur.
Domestic Cricket

Arshdeep started playing cricket at the age of 13. Arshdeep made his first-class cricket debut for Punjab in the 2018–19 season. He was part of the Indian team that won the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In 2018, he played for the Punjab Under-23 team against Rajasthan and took eight wickets in an innings (including a hat-trick) and a total of 10 wickets in the match. He made his List A debut for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in September 2018 and his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy in January 2019. His performance in the Ranji Trophy was excellent, where he not only bowled but also batted productively when required.
