The birth centenary year of renowned Punjabi poet Surjit Rampuri will formally commence on 12 June, his birth anniversary, at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Ludhiana.
The inaugural function will be presided over by Dr. S.P. Singh, former Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University. On this occasion, a special issue of Kavi Lok—the only Punjabi literary magazine dedicated exclusively to poetry and edited by Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal from Jalandhar—will be released.
The “Surjit Rampuri Special Issue” will be formally unveiled by Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Chairman of the Punjabi Lok Virasat Academy, Ludhiana, along with his associates. The special issue has been edited by writer Surinder Rampuri, a fellow villager and long-time associate of Surjit Rampuri.
