Lyricist Babu Singh Maan – A Living Encyclopedia of Punjabi Folk Tradition (Part 3)

Sardar Babu Singh Maan has given voice to every season. Two lyricists deeply influenced by him, Janak Sharmila and Suresh Bansal Baplewala, continue in the same spirit and style. Like many of Maan Sahib’s songs, the songs written by these two lyricists were also sung by Mohammad Sadiq and Ranjit Kaur.

During one of Punjab’s scorching seasons, Babu Singh Maan wrote the valuable song “Main Punjab Bolda Haan,” which Harbhajan Maan popularized in households across Punjab. The song was as follows:
