Noor Singla

Patiala’s Noor Singla Creates History by Securing All India Rank 1 in CA Final

A Remarkable Achievement in One of India’s Toughest Professional Exams

The Chartered Accountancy (CA) examination is widely regarded as one of the most challenging professional qualifications in India. Every year, lakhs of students begin their journey with the dream of becoming Chartered Accountants, but only a small percentage complete the course. Achieving success in the CA Final examination is a major accomplishment in itself. Securing the All India Rank 1 makes the achievement truly extraordinary.

Patiala’s Noor Singla has accomplished this remarkable feat. According to the results announced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Noor scored 499 marks out of 800, achieving an impressive 83.17 percent and securing All India Rank 1 in the CA Final examination. His success has brought immense pride not only to his family but also to the city of Patiala and the entire state of Punjab.

What makes his journey even more inspiring is that Noor cleared all three levels of the Chartered Accountancy course on his very first attempt. Earlier, he had also secured All India Rank 2 in the CA Intermediate examination. Rather than being satisfied with that achievement, he turned it into motivation to aim for the highest position in the final stage of the course.

A Phone Call That Changed Everything
That call came even before the results

Speaking about the unforgettable moment, Noor revealed that he received a phone call from the President of ICAI even before the results were officially published online.

During the call, he was informed that he had secured All India Rank 1 in the CA Final examination with a score of 499 marks. Noor described the moment as life-changing. Until that phone call, he was simply Noor Singla. Within seconds, he had become “CA Noor Singla.”

He explained that after securing AIR 2 in the Intermediate examination, he realised that reaching the top position was possible with focused preparation, disciplined study, and consistent hard work. That belief remained his greatest source of motivation throughout his CA Final preparation.

Inspired by His Elder Sister
Inspiration from elder sister

Noor belongs to a well-settled family in Patiala. His father, Gagandeep Singla, is a businessman, while his mother, Sujata Singla, is a homemaker. He also has two elder sisters.

He credits his decision to pursue Chartered Accountancy to his elder sister, who is herself a Chartered Accountant. Watching her complete the demanding course inspired him to choose the same profession.

According to Noor, the CA journey usually spans four to five years and demands unwavering support from family members. He believes his parents played a crucial role in his success by encouraging every important decision he made. Whether it was moving to Delhi for articleship or enrolling in online coaching classes, his family always stood beside him.

Choosing Chartered Accountancy After Class 12
Decided on his career after 12th

Noor completed his schooling at DAV Public School, Patiala. After finishing Class 12 in the Commerce stream, he had two possible career paths before him. He could either pursue a conventional degree or focus directly on Chartered Accountancy.

His interest in corporate finance, accounting, and financial management led him to choose CA as his career. At the same time, he completed his graduation from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), ensuring he balanced professional education with academic qualifications.

Articleship in Delhi and Focused Preparation in Patiala
Articleship in Delhi then preparation in Patiala

After clearing the CA Intermediate examination, Noor moved to Delhi to complete his mandatory two-year articleship. The practical exposure enabled him to work in a real-world corporate environment, providing valuable professional experience alongside his academic studies.

Once his articleship was completed, he returned to Patiala in August 2025. From that point onward, he dedicated the next eight to nine months entirely to preparing for the CA Final examination.

His daily routine involved studying for nearly nine to ten hours. However, he believes that success is not determined simply by spending long hours with books. According to him, consistency, disciplined revision, and maintaining a structured study schedule are far more important than counting study hours.

Taking Breaks Without Losing Focus
When studies used to distract me…

Preparing for a highly competitive examination over several months is mentally exhausting. Noor admitted that there were occasions when he felt mentally drained and lost interest in studying.

Instead of forcing himself to continue, he would take a short break for one or two days. During this time, he spent quality time with his family, went for walks, or enjoyed cycling to refresh his mind.

One habit he carefully maintained was staying away from social media during these breaks. He believes that endlessly scrolling through social media does not provide genuine mental relaxation and often leaves students even more distracted.

Recalling one particular incident, Noor shared that in March 2026, continuous preparation left him completely exhausted. He decided to stay away from studies for two full days. That short break helped him regain his energy and return to his preparation with renewed focus and confidence.

Future Plans After Becoming a Chartered Accountant
What is the plan next

Although Noor has already achieved one of the highest academic honours in the country, he believes his professional journey has only just begun.

He still has 10 to 15 days of institutional training to complete. After that, he plans to work in a corporate organisation for one or two years to gain practical industry experience and deepen his understanding of business operations.

However, he does not see himself remaining in a corporate job permanently. His long-term ambition is to become an entrepreneur by establishing his own business or launching a financial consultancy where he can apply his professional knowledge to help businesses grow.

A Message for Young Aspirants
What is the message for the youth

At the end of the conversation, Noor shared an inspiring message for students and young professionals striving to achieve success in their chosen fields.

He believes that anyone who wants to reach the highest level of achievement must always remember three essential values: consistency, patience, and discipline.

According to Noor, there is no shortcut to lasting success. Hard work may not always produce immediate results, but sincere effort never goes to waste. Those who remain committed to their goals, continue learning, and refuse to give up will eventually achieve the success they deserve.

A Proud Moment for Punjab

Noor Singla’s extraordinary achievement stands as a powerful example of what can be accomplished through determination, disciplined preparation, and strong family support. His journey from a Commerce student in Patiala to securing All India Rank 1 in the CA Final examination is an inspiring story for students across India.

His success proves that with a clear vision, consistent effort, and the encouragement of loved ones, even the toughest professional examinations can be conquered. Noor’s accomplishment has not only added another milestone to his personal journey but has also brought great pride to Patiala, Punjab, and the entire nation.
