During the early morning hours, he performed Asa Di Vaar Kirtan with complete devotion. Leaving Government Service for a Spiritual Mission

After leaving his job, he traveled to Rawalpindi, now in Pakistan, with the well-known contractor Boota Singh. There, he devoted himself to serving at a local Gurdwara and encouraged people to embrace Naam Simran and Gurbani.
After spending some time in Rawalpindi, he moved to the historic Saragarhi Gurdwara in Ferozepur, where his spiritual influence continued to grow.

One of the defining moments of Baba Jawand Singh Ji’s life came during his stay in Ferozepur, where he met the revered Baba Nand Singh Ji Nanaksar Wale.

Later, Baba Jawand Singh Ji moved to Rajasansi, near Amritsar, where he chose a peaceful and secluded place for continuous meditation. The location where he spent long periods in remembrance of God now lies within the premises of Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar.
Throughout his life, Baba Jawand Singh Ji urged devotees to place their complete faith in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and to follow the teachings of the Shabad Guru. He firmly opposed superstition, meaningless rituals, and empty religious practices. Instead, he encouraged people to develop a direct relationship with God through prayer, humility, and righteous living.
After dedicating his life to spreading the message of Naam and Gurbani, Baba Jawand Singh Ji departed for his heavenly abode on 18 Harh, 1922.
Establishment of Gurdwara Santsar Sahib
To preserve his sacred memory, a magnificent shrine known as Gurdwara Santsar Sahib was later constructed within the security perimeter of Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport at Rajasansi.
The Gurdwara was built through the combined efforts of the Airport Authority of India, the local management committee, and the Sikh community.
One of the unique features of this holy place is the uninterrupted recitation of Gurbani throughout the day and night. Devotees from India and abroad visit the shrine to offer prayers, express gratitude, and arrange Akhand Path Sahib to fulfill their wishes.
Despite the shrine’s location within a high-security airport zone, special arrangements have been made to allow devotees to visit the shrine.
Visiting Hours and Special Access
The Airport Authority has created a separate entrance for devotees visiting Gurdwara Santsar Sahib while ensuring airport security remains unaffected. The gate is generally open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM.
On Sangrand, the first day of the Punjabi month, the visiting hours are extended from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM to accommodate the large number of devotees who come to pay their respects. Thousands of worshippers visit during these hours to seek peace, blessings, and spiritual comfort.
Annual Martyrdom Anniversary Celebrations
Like every year, the annual death anniversary of Baba Jawand Singh Ji is observed with deep devotion at Gurdwara Santsar Sahib, located within the Rajasansi Airport complex. The commemorative event is organized through the joint efforts of the Airport Authority, the local Gurdwara management committee, and residents of the surrounding villages.
The celebrations include performances by renowned Sikh Ragis, Dhadi Jathas, and respected preachers who share inspiring accounts of Baba Jawand Singh Ji’s life, Sikh history, and the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib.
An uninterrupted Guru Ka Langar is served throughout the event, and the organizers also arrange drinking water, medical assistance, shoe storage, and other services to ensure the comfort of all visitors.
